Here at Wissenswert. Let’s start with the story from South Carolina. It was November 3, 2016. About two months earlier, the couple Keller Brown and Charlie Carver had disappeared. After the police had analyzed the mobile phone data of the two, the officers now assumed that the couple might be staying on this property.

As the officers searched the property and arrived at this container, they suddenly heard a knocking sound coming from inside. They then began to open the container with an angle grinder. When they finally gained access, they were confronted with a gruesome scene.

Everything was littered with trash and cluttered with furniture, and in the furthest corner sat a woman chained up like a dog. It was indeed the Keller Brown we were looking for. However, she was almost unrecognizable, having become very emaciated and of course highly traumatized in the two months since her disappearance. While the police officers freed her from the chain, another gruesome truth came to light.

“Sh him. He shot him. Todd shot three times in the chest, put him in a blue, put him in the bucket of the trash, I never saw him dead.”

K and Charlie were hired by 45-year-old Todd Colehab to carry out clearing work on his property. However, this was only a pretext to lure the two to his house.

No one knows why he did that and then shot Charlie. In an interview, Keller later recounted what happened shortly after she had to watch her boyfriend die before her eyes. Then he locked them inside the container. She never thought she’d get out of here alive. After her rescue, she was immediately taken to the hospital. The police immediately located Todd Colehab and arrested him.

Only when they questioned him did they realize what a serious criminal they actually had in front of them. Tod admitted to having killed a total of seven people in 13 years. Later, more graves containing bodies were indeed found on his property. Only about a month later, police in the USA had to make another gruesome discovery.

This time the police in Tennessee were responsible, because it involved a couple from the town of Knoxville. Leer and Joel Guyen have not shown up for work for a long time. Therefore, a so-called welfare check was initiated, in which police officers went to their house to check if they were doing well.

Even from the outside, the officers could tell that something was strange. Through the windows they saw that shopping bags full of food were spilled on the floor. Furthermore, extreme heat and a chemical smell emanated from the house. From inside, one could hear a dog barking continuously. They managed to enter the house through the garage.

They first noticed that the heating was turned up to full blast and that the oven and stove were also on. There was even a large pot boiling on the stove. Containers of chemicals and bleach were lying around everywhere. Police found the couple’s personal belongings on the dining table. A hammer lay next to it.

On their way to the upper floor, the officers noticed brown stains on the carpet of the stairs. At that point, they were already certain that a terrible discovery awaited them somewhere. They just didn’t know which corner of the house. They finally found what they were looking for in the gym. Two human hands without bodies lay on the ground.

In the bathroom next door, they found a knife in the sink. Next to them were two plastic tubs containing the dismembered bodies of Leisa and Joel, preserved in a homemade acid solution. They then made the next gruesome discovery in the kitchen. Leiser’s head was in the soup pot on the stove. The question now arose as to who had hated the couple so much that he had tortured them in this way.

When the officers found a notebook, it quickly became clear that it belonged to their own son, Joel Junior, because in the notebook Haar had written down and planned exactly how he wanted to destroy his parents. He created a proper shopping list of the tools he needed. One item on the list was: Flush body parts down the toilet.

But even more shocking is the motive for his act. Joel Junior was financially supported by his parents his entire life and had never worked himself. When he was told at the age of twenty that it was time to stand on his own two feet, he sought revenge. He was subsequently arrested and sentenced to 130 years in prison.

While for Leisa and Joel all help unfortunately came too late, in the next case a rescue took place at the last second. Eight-year-old Salem Satka from Fort Worth, Texas, was kidnapped on the street on May 19, 2019. A surveillance camera recorded her being torn from her mother’s arms.

As traumatic as this moment was for the mother, it was still an advantage that she was present, because she naturally remembered the appearance of the car, so that the officers could immediately begin a targeted search. The police also received some information from local residents suggesting that Salem was staying with the kidnapper in a hotel.

The officers wasted no time and shortly afterwards stood in front of the alleged kidnapper’s room door. Sem was then examined by a doctor and reunited with her mother. She was doing well. The kidnapper turned out to be 51-year-old Michael Web. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. Strictly speaking, this was therefore not a gruesome discovery, but rather a lucky one. The next discovery, however, was truly gruesome and, above all, dangerous.

In an empty house in southeast Houston, something was found that definitely didn’t belong there. a fully grown tiger. The cage was so small that he couldn’t even stand upright in it. Furthermore, the cage was extremely wobbly and only secured with a nylon strap. It would have been fatal if the tiger had escaped, because the house he was in was located in the middle of a densely populated residential area.

Shortly after this discovery, the tiger’s owner, Brittany Gaza, was located. She stated that she had had the tiger since its birth, but now it was too big for her and she wanted to give it away. She had reportedly just found a new home for him. Well, whether a wild animal is treated appropriately when it is imprisoned is probably not up for debate.

The owner was subsequently arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Unfortunately, the next case did not have such a happy ending. The case concerns Alexandra Morgan, a 34-year-old mother of two from H S Hissinghurst in England, who took her children to her parents on November 13, 2021, and then disappeared forever.

She said she wanted to go on a wellness holiday. But what nobody knew was that she worked as an escort and was actually meeting with one of her clients. These are the last recordings of her that exist. After that, there was no further sign of life from her. After Alexandra was reported missing, investigators began reconstructing her last hours.

Using license plate recognition systems, it was possible to trace where she went on the day she disappeared. Their last stop was Little Big Farm in the Rock Lane area. It belonged to Mark Brown, her client. Surveillance camera footage from the farm shows her driving her car onto the property.

However, the camera did not record her leaving the farm. The only footage shown was of Mark Brown sitting behind the wheel of her car a few days later, driving it away. This, of course, made him highly suspicious. Hoping to find Alexandra still alive, the police searched the farm a few days later. Then their search was suddenly interrupted.

Mark Brown drove onto his property. He admitted that he had met Alexandra, but said that she left again after 45 minutes. The police initially found no traces of Alexandra on the property and temporarily ended the search. But they returned the following day. This time they were even more thorough. They eventually found a fire pit, in which, upon closer inspection, human remains could be seen, bones and tooth fragments.

But what was particularly disturbing was this red container. It could be locked from the outside and had a kind of living chamber inside, in which someone was presumably locked in. Police then found another piece of evidence in Brown’s vehicle: a prescription in the name of Leah we, a name previously unknown to them.

However, it turned out that the name belonged to a different escort woman who had also been missing for months. On November 24th, Brown then made a serious mistake. He told a coworker that he was probably going to be arrested for a double murder, even though no one had previously mentioned that Le was probably dead.

This evidence was now sufficient to finally arrest Mark Brown. However, during the interrogation he remained extremely stubborn. In court, he then argued that Alexandra’s death had been an accident. But the evidence told a different story. He was subsequently sentenced to two life terms. But the basement, which at that time served as a playroom for the children, suddenly had a completely different function in 2019. After Mark and Emily Latunski separated, Mark lived alone in the house and he had turned the basement into a place of horror. The police officers wanted to check if the missing young man named Kevin Bacon was in the area. According to witness statements, he had planned to meet Mark the day before. Mark invited the officers in and acted as if he had nothing to hide. During the house search, the police then found a secret room in the basement.
